01Overview

HOUS sells modern and architecturally significant homes in Los Angeles, pairing listings with a deep editorial journal. I rebuilt it on Next.js and Storyblok so editors can compose pages visually, keeping the look, the content, and every legacy URL's search equity intact.

The brief

Move a large WordPress site (listings plus hundreds of journal posts) to a headless stack without losing a single URL's search visibility, and give editors a visual CMS they'll actually use.

02What I built

  1. 01

Statically generated templates for listings, buy categories, the journal, and marketing pages, refreshed by hourly ISR and Storyblok publish webhooks

  2. 02

A Storyblok content model with 5 content types and 25 nestable blocks, previewed in the Visual Editor behind signed preview links

  3. 03

A WordPress-to-Storyblok migration pipeline with a custom HTML-to-richtext converter; about 2,800 photos served from Cloudflare R2

  4. 04

55 permanent redirects and trailing-slash parity so legacy URLs land in one hop

  5. 05

A linked JSON-LD graph, sitemap with lastmod, and CMS-generated llms.txt feeds

  6. 06

A blur-up image component that cut an 87 KB (gzipped) placeholder bundle, plus a Cmd-K search palette
